Questrade Trading watchlists

The markets move fast, and we want to help you move even faster.

With our trading platforms, you can create custom watchlists so you can follow the securities you’ve got your eyes on. As well, we provide standard watchlists that track certain exchanges, indices and more to help you follow the financial markets.

Watchlists are a useful tool for tracking stocks or ETFs you wish to buy in the future, or simply want to keep an eye on. This also allows you to organize and plan your portfolio to your goals before investing.

The watchlists table has three main features which include Add symbol, Create watchlist, and Edit watchlist. Let’s cover each one.

• To add stocks or ETFs to your watchlist, select the + Add symbol button and enter the ticker symbol or company name you're interested in.
• Select the ticker symbol or + sign beside your chosen security to add it to your list.
• Alternatively, you can add stocks and ETFs using the Symbol lookup bar located at the top of the trading page.
  • Enter and select the name of the security you want to add to your watchlist. The security’s information (and chart) appears on the left side of the trading view.
• Select Add to watchlist above the chart, then choose which watchlist to add the stock or ETF to.

First, select More, then Create new watchlist to create a new watchlist. Next, you’ll view a window to give your watchlist a name. When you’re done, select Save to start adding stocks and ETFs to your new watchlist.

To edit your watchlist, select the name of your watchlist and use the dropdown menu to navigate between watchlists.

Once you have chosen the watchlist you want to edit, select More, then Edit.

• Here, you can rearrange the order of the stocks/ETFs on your list. Simply click and hold the 2 horizontal lines icon and move it up or down based on your preferred order.
  • Alternatively, you can sort your watchlist by clicking on one of the headers in the watchlist table. For example, you can sort by Last Price, Day Range, Currency, and more.
