The Cashback Rewards program

Like the sound of earning free money for your investment portfolio while getting your morning coffee?

Questrade’s Cashback Rewards program allows you to earn cash rewards while shopping at your favourite stores, helping put more money in your pocket.

Link up to two eligible credit cards, and earn Cashback Rewards for your portfolio.

How does it work?

You can link up to 2 Canadian Visa(s) or Mastercard(s) to most types of Questrade accounts, and qualify for offers from our retail partners when you shop with your favourite brands.

Spend a certain amount with eligible retailers, and earn cash rewards that will be paid directly to your Questrade account.

You can browse the offers available from the new Programs page found in the top navigation menu. New offers are added regularly, so don’t forget to check back and see where you can earn some free money!

Tip: Please check the terms and conditions of each offer to ensure your purchase qualifies, some offers are time-limited.

When you sign up for Rewards and Cashback, you can also enroll in the RoundUP automatic savings program as well.

Signing up

To sign up for the Cashback Rewards program:

1. Head to the PROGRAMS page from the top navigation menu
2. Click the green SIGN UP NOW button at the top of the page.
3. Select which program (RoundUP or Cashback Rewards) you’d like to sign up for, or choose both.

What you’ll need

If you’re only signing up for Cashback Rewards, you’ll just need the credit card(s) you’d like to link. Purchases made on these card(s) will be tracked to calculate your reward eligibility.

If you’re signing up for both programs, you’ll also need to have your bank account information handy. Check out our RoundUP article above for more details.

Adding your credit card(s)

On the next page, you can add up to 2 linked credit cards.

Please note: Only the first card can be used for the RoundUP program, both cards can be used for the Cashback Rewards program.

Please enter the credit card number, expiry date, card holder name, and the CVV code (usually on the back).

Once you’re done, please read and accept the terms and conditions.

Note: Debit cards (including Visa Debit), and prepaid credit cards (I.e. Koho, Stack, Vanilla Mastercard) are not eligible.

If you’re also signing up for the RoundUP program, you’ll add your bank account next. You can learn more about this in the article above.

Next, choose the Questrade account you’d like your Cashback Rewards to be deposited into.

Most self-directed and Questwealth accounts are supported with the exception of Retirement income (RIF, LIF...) and FX & CFD accounts, which are ineligible.

Please note: If you choose a registered account like a TFSA, FHSA, or RRSP for your CashBack or RoundUP rewards deposits, these will be counted as contributions for tax purposes.

Please make sure you have enough contribution room available if you choose to use a registered account.

The last step to finish your signup is to review and agree to the terms and conditions.
