If you’re an active trader who is passionate about investing, you may be able to take advantage of even lower commissions through our active trader pricing program. 

All active trader commission plans include lower commissions on stock and ETF trades, and lower commissions and per-contract fees on all option trades.

How to get active trader pricing

Always enjoy active trader pricing and enjoy real-time level 2 data by subscribing to one of our advanced data plans.

Both Canadian and U.S. data plans automatically qualify you for active trader pricing, plus both qualify for both partial and full rebates depending on your trading activity.

To sign up for level 2 data, just tap the profile drop-down from the Questrade Trading web platform:
Selecting your data package
Then select the data package and pricing plan you’d like.

Advanced data packages will unlock with the subscription of either a Canadian or U.S. streaming data plan.
Toggling data package and pricing plan
If your trades qualify for either a partial or full rebate on your plan price, your account will be credited at the end of each month.

Every investor or trader is different, so the best plan will depend on your personal investing habits. 

Our most popular plan is Fixed, which has a low, flat commission that applies to options trading as well. This plan is designed to benefit those who tend to make high-volume trades, or those whose trading tends to lean more towards options activity.

Our Variable plan is great for those who buy fewer shares of more expensive companies, or those whose strategy tends to involve multiple smaller-volume trades.

If your investment strategy changes in a way that the other pricing plan will save you more, you can easily switch between plans the same way that you selected. Changes in pricing plans will take effect at the start of the next billing cycle.
